We are seeking an innovative and skilled mechanical engineer to join our team. As a mechanical engineer at Nomad Atomics, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced mechanical systems for our quantum sensors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with 3D CAD software. You will be working closely with our development team to create cutting-edge mechanical components and systems that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our quantum sensor products.">
  • Collaborating with physicists, electronic, and software engineers to integrate mechanical components into the overall system design.">
  • Working closely with external suppliers to build and maintain relationships to push the innovation of our products.">
  • Maintaining a safe and organized lab/machine shop environment.">
  • Assisting with the maintenance of deployed sensors.">

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work both independently and within collaborative teams.

You should also have:

  • A B.Sc or M.Sc in mechanical, aerospace, mechatronics engineering, or a related field.">
  • Ideal 2-3 years of experience designing and prototyping precision mechanical systems.">
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software.">
  • Experience designing for a range of manufacturing techniques, including CNC machined parts.">
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools.">
  • Ideal experience designing flexure components and optomechanical systems.">
  • Ideal experience designing systems that tightly integrate electrical components.">
  • Highly initiative with the ability to work both independently and within collaborative teams.">
  • Ability to be hands-on for manufacturing & assembling of jigs, prototypes & products.">
  • Must have current full working rights in Australia.">
