Rollingstock Maintenance Carpenter

This role involves providing carpentry maintenance services to the Kuranda Scenic Railway Operations and other areas of the Rollingstock Maintenance Depot.
About the PositionThe ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Carpentry, high-level skills in overhaul, refurbishment, maintenance, and fault finding on timber structures, substantial experience working in semi-autonomous teams with minimal supervision, sound knowledge of depot maintenance practices and procedures, strong understanding of safety and environmental practices and procedures, familiarity with quality management principles, and a willingness to commit to and work within established procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and repair carriages to ensure reliability and availability.
- Contribute to the Kuranda Scenic Railway Carriage Overhaul & Refurbishment Program.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to support safety, training, and depot operations.
- Ensure accurate data entry into maintenance systems and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and plan operational safety practices.
- Certificate III in Carpentry.
- High-level skills in overhaul, refurbishment, maintenance, and fault finding on timber structures.
- Substantial experience working in semi-autonomous teams with minimal supervision.
- Sound knowledge of depot maintenance practices and procedures.
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with quality management principles.
- Willingness to commit to and work within established procedures and standards.
