Unique Opportunity to Lead Compliance in Aon Australia and Papua New Guinea

Aon is seeking a seasoned compliance professional to lead our compliance team in Australia and Papua New Guinea. As Chief Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in managing all compliance duties and responsibilities for the Aon Australia and PNG businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support growth strategies for Aon Australia and PNG by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management.
  • Evolve and support Aon's global compliance strategy, aligned with local regulations, to drive efficient and scalable compliance programs.
  • Lead and inspire the Australian compliance team, driving global goals locally applied, and ensuring talent retention and career development.
  • Maintain Aon's global policies and relevant local addenda.
  • Drive fact-based progress of compliance programs and their effectiveness, collaborating with global Compliance Operations.
  • Oversee the assessment of new laws, regulations, and trends in Australia and PNG, ensuring all relevant risks are identified and managed.
  • Partner with the Chief Risk Officer Asia Pacific to maintain APAC's risk management framework.
  • Support regular risk assessments and statutory requirements.
  • Advise Aon Boards and Risk Committees on corporate governance requirements and drive compliance.
  • Proactively support and advise on regulatory change programs.
Requirements:
  • Operational compliance management experience with exposure to financial services, including general insurance or insurance broking.
  • Process-oriented with an interest in using technology to aid delivery of compliance services.
  • Tertiary degree or equivalent in law, finance, business, or commerce.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team onshore and offshore.
  • Demonstrated capacity for commercial-oriented problem-solving.
  • Process improvement-oriented and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Proven track record in regulatory change in the financial services environment.
  • Ability to influence and articulate strategy in a straightforward and amiable manner.
