InvoCare, a leading provider of funeral services, cemeteries, and crematoria, seeks an experienced Chief Compliance and Risk Officer to join their team. Located across almost 300 locations in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, InvoCare has been serving families for over 100 years with compassion and professionalism.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building a consolidated business oversight function in the Office of Protocols and Professional Standards, encompassing three operational business units: Australian Funerals, Cemetery and Crematorium, and Pet Crematorium. They will work closely with functional leaders to establish ways of working for the current and future team to conduct business process and service delivery-related audits and quality reviews.

This role involves regular travel, both locally and interstate, and is based in the National Support Office in North Sydney, NSW, with a planned relocation to the Rhodes-Parramatta corridor in early 2025. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Operational Risk Management or Business Administration and prior experience in regulated operations, including Mortuary Services, Hospital, Funeral, or high-consequence facilities such as Manufacturing and Aviation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting functional leaders in developing frameworks and audit processes
  • Serving as a key advisor on operational and regulatory risk, policy compliance, gap analysis, and continual business process improvement
  • Ensuring the operation of the AU Funerals National Accreditation Program and NSW Cemetery and Crematoria Licensing conditions
  • Ensuring adherence to the Cremated Remains Policy
  • Delivering customer service standards
  • Upholding general business standards and adherence to facilities and equipment design

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
