Technical Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to staff and students in the fields of Architecture, Industrial Design, and Planning.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for demonstrating relevant techniques in operating equipment, product/prototype manufacture, finishing material selection, and instrumentation.
- They will use computer-aided design software, CAD or CAM, and possess sound skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- The role involves assisting students and staff with the use and utilisation of specific equipment such as laser cutters, foam cutters, 3D printers, and plotter printers.

- To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Planning, Industrial Design, or an equivalent combination of relevant trade experience, training, and skills.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a position demonstrating similar skills.
- Ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment such as laser cutters, 3D printers, foam cutters, and plotter printers.
- Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office Suite to support experimental setups and documentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to provide clear instructions and collaborate with students, staff, and external suppliers.
- Proven experience in coordinating the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of laboratory apparatus and studio spaces.
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks simultaneously and maintaining detailed documentation for equipment and software licenses.
