Case Worker Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a number of Case Workers to join our family services program. We support young people under 25yrs who are pregnant or parenting, and experiencing complex issues that impact on parenting, family life and children's wellbeing.

  • Our team responds to referrals from The Orange Door, assisting clients to enhance their parenting capacity through assertive outreach and group work.

In a typical day, a Case Worker might:

  • Engage with reluctant young families using creative approaches.
  • Build rapport to carry out strengths and risk assessments in the client's home or community.
  • Support families to establish and reach identified parenting goals.
  • Build parenting skills, confidence and knowledge to promote children's safety and wellbeing.
  • Support young people to parent effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver case management and support services to young families.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience in assessing risk to babies, children and young people.
  • Sound understanding of the Best Interests Case Practice Model and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
