About the Role

This is a culturally sensitive position classified under 'special measures' of section 12 of relevant legislation. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.

A Culturally Appropriate Case Manager provides family violence case management and coordination services to men from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Eastern Metropolitan Region who are identified as using family violence or impacted by it.

The key focus of this role is to collaborate with other programs, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, regional family violence partnerships, and external support services to ensure comprehensive integrated case plans are developed and implemented.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide outreach services to clients referred to the program.
  • Support clients to identify their needs and develop personal support plans addressing priorities for themselves and families.
  • Offer case management and effective coordination to reduce barriers for clients accessing behaviour change services.
  • Promote responsibility and accountability for clients' use of violence.

The employee will be expected to perform other duties as directed, which are within their skill level to meet operational needs.
