Aboriginal Family Violence Specialist

This role is for a Men's Case Manager to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Eastern Metropolitan Region.
The successful applicant will provide family violence case management and coordination services to men who are using or impacted by family violence.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement culturally appropriate outreach programs for Aboriginal men referred to the Men's Case Management Program.
- Support clients to identify their safety and support needs, and help them develop a personal support plan to address priorities for themselves and their families.
- Promote responsibility and accountability for clients' use of violence.
- Put in place steps or make referrals as needed to secure the immediate safety of families.
- A deep understanding of contemporary Aboriginal culture and the history of intergenerational trauma affecting family units.
- Tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience meeting specified requirements.
- Experience working in the family violence sector, risk assessment, and managing risk in related areas.
