About the Role

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aboriginal Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) across all directorates and regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to promote cultural safety and reconciliation within our organization.
  • Collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of our RAP.
  • Monitor and evaluate key deliverables, including the development of reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the maintenance of a vibrant organization-wide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff network.
  • Help prepare workplaces to provide culturally supportive work environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience developing collaborative relationships with Aboriginal people and high-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, management, and evaluation of successful Aboriginal employment programs.
  • Ability to manage projects and demonstrated experience coordinating, mentoring, and managing small groups.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to prepare a variety of reports.
  • A commitment to and a deep understanding of the Vision, Mission, and Values of the St Vincent de Paul Society and those accessing its services.
