About the Role

The Manager, Aboriginal Employment & Engagement is a key position within Legal Aid NSW, responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Aboriginal Employment & Engagement Strategy. This role involves strategic planning, program development, and delivery to attract, develop, and retain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Aboriginal Employment & Engagement Strategy to maximize the attraction, development, and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
  • Lead the development and delivery of programs to support the growth and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure organisational culture and corporate strategies align to support the Aboriginal Employment & Engagement Strategy.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Aboriginal Employment & Engagement Strategy and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification as authorised by Part 5, Clause 26 of the Government Sector Employment Rules 2014.
  • Proven experience in Aboriginal employment and engagement, including program development and delivery.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
