Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities

We are seeking a dedicated individual to maintain our school's grounds and facilities. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students.

As part of the operational team, you will be responsible for maintaining our grounds and facilities to a high standard. This includes ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and managing equipment records.

About The Role

This Schools Officer position is a critical part of our school's operational team. You will work closely with the Principal, Business Manager, or delegated leader to carry out tasks that ensure the school's grounds and facilities are kept to a high standard.

  • You will support security duties at the school, including using and maintaining the school security systems, banking of school funds, and locking and unlocking buildings within core hours.
  • You will assist with various tasks such as clearing and hosing of drains and gutters, collection of waste, food, and paper on school grounds, undertaking immediate action cleaning duties outside normal operating hours, coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required, and assisting with requirements for significant events such as fetes, plays, and major sporting events.
  • You will ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including maintenance of a safe work environment, safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers, and fuel, bringing to appropriate attention any safety hazards, managing equipment records, and maintaining tools and equipment for repair services as per manufacturers' service manuals.
