Schools Officer Grounds and Facilities Job Description

The Schools Officer Grounds and Facilities is a vital role within the school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe functional and welcoming environment that supports student learning and wellbeing.

Working closely with the Principal Business Manager or delegated leader the Schools Officer Grounds and Facilities will carry out a range of tasks to ensure the school's grounds and facilities are kept to a high standard including routine maintenance minor repairs and groundskeeping duties.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills be proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support security duties at the school including banking of school funds and locking and unlocking buildings.
  • Assist with clearing and hosing of drains and gutters collection of waste food and paper on school grounds and immediate action cleaning duties outside normal operating hours.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment safe storage and handling of chemicals fertilisers and fuel and management of equipment records.
Requirements

The Schools Officer Grounds and Facilities must possess the following qualities:

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • A current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.

Desirable Qualifications: Relevant experience in grounds maintenance or a related field would be highly regarded.
