About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Project Manager to join our team at BOQ Group. As a key member of our Reporting and Control team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of finance projects across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and completion of finance projects, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Drive process improvements and optimization initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness and improve controls.
  • Make key decisions in design and build of new systems and processes.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align projects with business goals and objectives.
  • Perform impact assessments of finance deliverables for each new project and prepare and execute the plan for implementation.
  • Challenge and influence project decisions to ensure improved processes, controls, and reduced risk in the delivery of all requirements.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Finance SMEs, ensuring their continuous development and success through clear performance expectations and leadership.
  • Understand and support management of key risks in project delivery, providing assessment and recommendations for mitigation of risks to Senior Management.
  • Continuous coordination and planning of all in-flight and upcoming projects to assess scope, timing, and resourcing.
  • Develop and implement a structured and standardized approach to project delivery for the Financial Reporting and Control team.
  • Change champion in communicating upcoming changes and impacts to the wider Financial Reporting & Control team.
  • Support the annual continuous improvement planning process and coordinate the delivery of prioritized improvements.
About You

You should be CA/CPA qualified with over 10 years of experience in finance project management, focusing on systems implementation and optimization and financial services experience. Strong knowledge of financial processes, controls, regulatory requirements, and risk management is essential. Proven experience in managing project deliverables and leading complex finance projects, including system implementations and process improvements, is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are necessary, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results in a dynamic environment. Intellectual curiosity and quick comprehension of complex concepts are important. Experience in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to achieve successful outcomes is also crucial.
