We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in a Permanent Part-Time (0.5) capacity at a virtual mental health service in New South Wales.
The role involves the use of cutting-edge telehealth technology to provide timely access to individualised and holistic assessment and care by expert multidisciplinary clinicians across a geographically dispersed Local Health District.
You will have the opportunity to lead teams, virtually serving consumers in the community and across emergency departments in the local area. The position also requires managing inpatients within the service.
The Virtual Consultation Hub & Virtual Community Centre will be mainly based separately, but it is expected that the psychiatrist spends sufficient time at the local Emergency Departments to facilitate liaison and registrar supervision.
Based just 90 minutes south of Sydney, this health district provides health services for around 400,000 people, making it one of the region's largest employers with a workforce of more than 8,500 staff operating eight hospital sites and providing community health services from approximately 58 locations across the region.
The location boasts stunning coastal scenery, surrounded by beaches, offering residents and visitors a high quality of life, abundant recreational opportunities, and a strong sense of community. The city is known for its friendly atmosphere, with residents taking pride in their community and actively participating in events, festivals, and initiatives.
The successful candidate will require:
- Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital.
The salary package includes:
- Base FTE Salary: $186,241 - $251,618 (dependent on experience),
- Expected FTE Salary of $262,376 to $354,479 with allowances,
- Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme - up to $10,000 depending on the position and location,
- Salary Package Options and Novated leasing,
- Flexible work arrangements,
- Allocated Days Off (ADO),
- Training and education opportunities,
- Career progression, professional development and secondment opportunities.
