About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Mental Health Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network. As a Mental Health Nurse Consultant, you will play a critical role in shaping and enhancing mental health responses in regional South Australia and the Rural and Remote Mental Health Service (RRMHS).

You will collaborate with key stakeholders from the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN), providing expert guidance and consultancy that supports recovery across various community, acute, and rehabilitation settings. Your expertise will drive excellence and innovation in mental health care, and you will lead and coordinate projects and programs that drive positive outcomes for consumers and services.

In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including community, acute, and rehabilitation settings, and you will have access to continuing education and development opportunities. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate projects and programs that drive positive outcomes for consumers and services.
  • Provide expert guidance and consultancy that supports recovery across various community, acute, and rehabilitation settings.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders from the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN) to shape and enhance mental health responses.
  • Develop and implement mental health care plans that meet the needs of consumers.

Requirements

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Holds a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent).
  • Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the mental health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of multidisciplinary staff, student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and/or midwives.
