Safety and Wellbeing Manager

About the Role
The Safety and Wellbeing Manager will partner with the senior leadership team to develop and execute the SH&W strategic plan. This role will drive the Linfox safety evolution by coaching and mentoring others to increase knowledge, ownership, and engagement in SH&W.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the leadership team to plan, develop, and execute the safety, health, and wellbeing plan.
- Support and promote the Linfox safety evolution journey to strengthen our safety culture with a focus on care, trust, and inclusion.
- Ensure the business takes a risk-based approach to identifying and controlling everyday and critical risks.
- Facilitate 4Ds and STKY sessions to help the team find better and safer ways to work.
- Provide direction and support for serious incident investigations with a focus on learning, improving, and implementing risk controls.
- Embed health and wellbeing with a focus on general health, nutrition, fitness, and fatigue.
- Create a mentally healthy workplace by educating and addressing psychosocial risks.
- Manage the safety system and auditing to ensure compliance with legislative and self-insurance requirements.
- Report and present on performance, trends, and outcomes.
- Coach and develop the capability of the Safety, Health, and Wellbeing team.
Requirements
- RISK: An understanding of how to practically identify, assess, and manage risk.
- COACHING: Experience in coaching or training, with the ability to talk, listen, and influence across a broad range of stakeholders.
- CULTURE: Experience in building a strong 'team-based' culture.
- SAFETY: Experience in a safety role within a dynamic, high-risk environment.
- HEALTH & WELLBEING: Genuine interest and experience in health and wellness.
- COMPLIANCE: An understanding of legislative responsibilities and the regulatory environment that exists for WHS.
- LEARNING: A keen interest in continuous learning and the ability to share learnings with others.
- ENTHUSIASM & PASSION: We want energy people who are happy to get their hands dirty but equally happy to discuss and partner with leaders to guide and influence.
