Safety and Training Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Safety, Training and Wellbeing Manager. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving our safety evolution and promoting a culture of care, trust, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the leadership team to develop and execute the safety, health, and wellbeing plan, ensuring a risk-based approach to identifying and controlling every day and critical risks.
- Actively support and promote the Linfox safety evolution journey, focusing on strengthening our safety culture and embedding health and wellbeing practices.
- Facilitate 4Ds and STKY sessions to encourage our team to find better and safer ways to work, and provide direction and support for serious incident investigations.
- Manage the safety system and auditing to ensure compliance with legislative and self-insurance requirements, and report and present on performance, trends, and outcomes.
- Coach and develop the capability of the Safety, Health, and Wellbeing team, and create a mentally healthy workplace by educating and addressing psychosocial risks.
Requirements
- Risk: Proven understanding of risk management principles and experience in identifying, assessing, and managing risk.
- Coaching: Experience in coaching or training, with the ability to talk, listen, and influence across a broad range of stakeholders.
- Culture: Proven experience in building a strong team-based culture, with a focus on care, trust, and inclusion.
- Safety: Experience in a safety role within a dynamic, high-risk environment, with a strong understanding of safety principles and practices.
- Health and Wellbeing: Genuine interest and experience in health and wellness, with a focus on general health, nutrition, fitness, and fatigue.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of legislative responsibilities and the regulatory environment that exists for WHS.
- Learning: Keen interest in continuous learning and the ability to share learnings with others.
- Enthusiasm and Passion: Energy and enthusiasm for the role, with a passion for safety, health, and wellbeing.
