Human Resources Specialist

The Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Human Resource Officer to join our team. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to our personnel management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on legislation, policy, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform HR decisions and strategies.
- Support the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex HR matters.
- Provide exceptional customer service to our APS members and supervisors.
About Our Team
The G1 Branch is responsible for personnel management activities, including recruitment, training, evaluation of employees' performance, remuneration and benefit administration, labour relations, and compliance with labour laws and regulations.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, and be able to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Requirements:
- APS 6 level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work with IT systems and Microsoft office suite of programs.
- High level of emotional intelligence.
