About the Role

This is a Part-time role working Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 3:00pm - 7:00pm. As a Food Service Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting Food Service delivery at Uniting AgeWell Box Hill by providing a service in accordance with the current planned menu and requirements of the Food Safety Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food preparation and food service areas
  • Serving residents meals in dining hall services and trolley service to rooms, washing dishes, sandwich making, providing cups of tea or coffee to residents and their visitors
  • Provide feedback regarding residents' likes and dislikes regarding menu planning and escalate any observations or concerns in residents conditions
  • Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with residents, their relatives and friends
  • Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
About You

We are looking for someone with experience and expertise working in food service, preferably in a health, hotel or aged care setting. You will need to be available to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 3:00pm - 7:00pm and be able to work at a fast pace as part of a team.

  • A current Working With Children Check card
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
