Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Food Services Assistant at Uniting AgeWell Box Hill. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of food services to our residents, ensuring their individual needs and wellbeing are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food preparation and service areas.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, serving residents meals in the dining hall and trolley service to rooms, washing dishes, and making sandwiches.
  • Offer cups of tea or coffee to residents and their visitors, promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Provide feedback on residents' likes and dislikes regarding menu planning and escalate any observations or concerns regarding their conditions.
  • Participate in quality activities and maintain friendly, supportive, and professional relationships with residents, their relatives, and friends.
Requirements
  • Experience working in food service, preferably in a health, hotel, or aged care setting.
  • Availability to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 3:00pm - 7:00pm.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace as part of a team and provide excellent customer service.
  • Initiative and ability to work without supervision, thriving in a team environment.
  • Commitment to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST philosophy.
Essentials for Working in Aged Care
  • A current Working With Children Check card.
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance.
