The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a highly developed ocean data professional to contribute to the operational excellence of tidal and sea level data services.
This position sits alongside other specialists in the Environmental Prediction Services program. In this role, you will work closely with other specialists on production processes associated with tide predictions, ocean forecasts, and warnings.
As a senior specialist, you will play an active role in shaping longer-term developments associated with ocean services under strategy.
- Lead curation of tidal and sea level data with respect to the Bureau's services.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to facilitate exchange and integration of tides and sea level data.
- Oversee sea level data processes that support operational services, including tide predictions, coastal forecasts, and warnings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and improve timeseries data processes, integrating across heterogeneous systems and addressing diverse user requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless data exchange and integration.
Requirements:
- Highly developed data management skills within oceanographic fields.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and improving data quality.
Qualifications include tertiary qualifications in environmental science, data management, or related discipline.
