Job Overview
">The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking an ocean professional to contribute to the operational excellence of tidal and sea level data services. As a Senior Ocean Specialist, you will play an active role in shaping longer-term developments associated with ocean services under the Bureau's strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate tidal and sea level data for Bureau services.
- Develop collaborative relationships with stakeholders to facilitate exchange and integration of tides and sea level data.
- Oversee sea level data processes supporting operational services, including tide predictions, coastal forecasts and warnings.
- Manage customer requests related to Bureau data holdings and drive improvements to request processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Highly developed data and quality management skills, ideally within oceanographic fields.
- Demonstrated experience managing and improving timeseries data processes, including integration across heterogeneous systems and addressing diverse user requirements.
- Close familiarity with ocean services and related science; ideally related to tides, maritime operations, hydrography or coastal processes.
