About the Role
  • This senior specialist position requires expertise in oceanographic fields, with a focus on tidal and sea level data services.
  • The successful candidate will lead the curation of tidal and sea level data, fostering collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to ensure seamless data exchange and integration.
  • A key responsibility will be overseeing sea level data processes, including tide predictions, coastal forecasts, and warnings, ensuring timely and accurate information for operational services.
  • This role demands strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work constructively with a range of stakeholders, customers, and team members to drive mutually beneficial collaborations.
  • You will play a hands-on role in improving community access to sea level data, collaborating across groups within the organization to enhance data handling and observation networks.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, data management, or a related discipline are essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and improving timeseries data processes, including integration across heterogeneous systems and addressing diverse user requirements, is highly desirable.
  • Close familiarity with ocean services and related science, ideally related to tides, maritime operations, hydrography, or coastal processes, is required.
