This role requires a highly skilled professional to lead the development and implementation of government relations strategies for effective engagement.
About the RoleWe seek an experienced Senior Government Relations Specialist to drive meaningful change by influencing policies that enhance safety, innovation, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to create lasting public benefit and make a real impact on Australia's future.
- Develop and implement comprehensive government relations strategies.
- BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY MINISTERIAL AND SHADOW CONTACTS, MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT, GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS, AGENCIES, INDUSTRY LEADERS, AND REGULATORY BODIES.
- MONITOR THE POLITICAL AND REGULATORY ENVIRONMENT AND PROACTIVELY IDENTIFY KEY AREAS OF PUBLIC POLICY FOR OPPORTUNITIES AND IMPACTS TO OPERATIONS.
- CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROMOTION, EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION, INFLUENCE, AND PUBLICATION OF KEY ADVOCACY MESSAGES AND CAMPAIGNS ACROSS ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field, preferably within the standards, regulatory, association, or not-for-profit sectors. They must possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities within a team environment. The successful candidate will also be willing to travel interstate and overseas as required.
Key Qualifications- A degree in a relevant field such as politics, international relations, or communications.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
