Job Description:

As a Government Relations Specialist, you will play a key role in facilitating engagement between Macquarie and government representatives. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement the Group's government relations strategy.

You will collaborate with the team to leverage diverse talents and drive innovative possibilities. As a global financial services group operating in 31 markets over 56 years of unbroken profitability, you'll contribute to a supportive team where everyone shares ideas and drives outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support government relations at federal, diplomatic, and state levels for Macquarie Group in Australia
  • Participate in meetings with government representatives across various levels
  • Develop messaging on relevant policy areas
  • Collaborate with the Group to develop policy positions on areas of priority, including financial services, capital attraction, and investment
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field combined with experience in politics or a previous government relations role
  • Strong understanding of Australian politics at federal, state, and local levels, as well as international politics
  • Understanding of the financial services industry is valuable
