About the Role
This role will effectively deliver an accountable, effective and culturally strong service to reduce the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system.
You will provide independent support to families when child protection concerns are reported for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander child or young person with the goal of securing the safety of the children and the family's participation in decision making.
Duties
- Facilitate family-led decision making from early in the child protection continuum.
- Support self-determination and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle.
- Assist families to understand Child Safety processes and the safety concerns held by Child Safety (where applicable).
- Provide support to families to enable them to have active input to decisions.
- Cultivate effective working relationships across all levels, which encourage the growth of both internal and external connections, promote collaboration, trust, and respect, embrace diversity, and provide guidance, mentoring, and a focus on staff development.

- A starting salary of $86,000 per annum (depending on qualification and experience) + 11.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

Requirements
- A current Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention or Criminology with 2 years' relevant experience in social services field.
The estimated salary for this role is around $90,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
