BESIX Watpac, a renowned construction company with a 40-year history of delivering diverse projects, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join its team in the Illawarra region on a large health project.

This key role ensures project delivery excellence through effective design leadership. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing consultants to deliver high-quality design documentation on time, within budget, and in compliance with the Project Brief.
  • Reviewing the project design for regulatory and building compliance.
  • Collaborating with the construction team and trade subcontractors to review the design for constructability, driving efficiencies during delivery.
  • Actively participating in methodology development for the project's delivery.
  • Maintaining design quality control management.

The incumbent will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
  • Prior experience working with a principal contractor on large-scale D&C building projects from commencement to completion.
  • The ability to collaborate with external consultants to achieve best outcomes for the project.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
