About this role

This challenging and rewarding position will see you working closely with injured workers to assist in the processing of their Workers Compensation claim during a difficult time after a workplace accident or injury.

As a central point of contact for the injured worker, employer and treating health providers, you will review requests for compensation for medical treatment and other expenses, ensuring correct and timely processing of reimbursement of treatment costs.

Your responsibilities
  • Manage and process claims for injured workers claiming reimbursement and cost coverage of various medical expenses to support recovery.
  • Review, monitor and approve requests for compensation for medical/surgical treatment.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is received to process reimbursements for treating health providers and injured workers.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as assessing and processing invoices, entering contact notes, and drafting letters related to claims decisions.
  • Take and make a high volume of client and customer calls regarding claims outcomes, updates, and service.
  • Use claims management systems and databases to record and review claims information, ensuring privacy and accuracy.
  • Support the review process for ongoing entitlement for medical and related compensation for injured workers.
About you

We are looking for individuals with previous work experience in customer service-based roles, including medical administration, employment services, rehabilitation, mental health, social work or health & safety.

Tertiary study in Psychology, social work or similar is beneficial but not essential. You will need strong telephone-based communication skills, administrative skills and the ability to learn and use systems/databases.

You should also possess resilience, exceptional time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a team-player attitude.
