Compensation Claims Specialist

This role involves working closely with injured workers to facilitate the processing of their Workers Compensation claims during a challenging time after a workplace accident or injury. You will be the central point of contact for the injured worker, employer and various treating health providers to review requests for compensation for medical treatment and other expenses.

- Manage and process claims for injured workers claiming reimbursement and cost coverage of various types of medical expenses to aid in their recovery journey.
- Review, monitor and approve requests for compensation from injured workers for medical/surgical treatment.
- E nsure appropriate documentation is received to process reimbursements for treating health providers and injured workers.
- Administer tasks such as assessing and processing invoices, entering contact notes, drafting letters relating to decisions being made on claims etc.
- Take and make high volumes of client and customer calls regarding claims outcomes, updates, and customer service.
- Utilize claims management systems and databases to record and review claims information, ensuring privacy and accuracy of information.
- Support the review process for ongoing entitlement for medical and like compensation for injured workers.
We seek individuals with previous work experience in customer-facing roles, particularly in fields/roles specializing in (but not limited to) medical administration, employment services, rehabilitation, mental health, social work or health & safety. Tertiary study within disciplines of Psychology, Social Work or similar is beneficial but not essential.
We require strong telephone-based conversational/communication skills, administrative skills and ability to learn and use systems/databases. Resilience, excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks are also essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a team-player attitude are necessary for success in this role.
