About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Employment Consultant to join our team at are-able. As an Employment Consultant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities find and maintain employment. Your primary responsibility will be to work with job seekers to identify their strengths, skills, and interests, and to provide them with the necessary support and resources to secure employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with job seekers to develop personalized employment plans and provide ongoing support to help them achieve their employment goals.
  • Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to identify job opportunities and promote are-able's services.
  • Provide post-placement support to job seekers who have found employment, including regular check-ins and assistance with any challenges they may face.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to ensure job seekers are meeting their employment goals and provide additional support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of job seeker interactions, progress, and outcomes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g. social work, counseling, human resources) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a customer-facing role, preferably in a disability employment services setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with job seekers, employers, and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
