About the Role:
As a Senior Safety Manager at McCain Foods, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and efficient workplace. Your primary responsibility will be to provide coaching and mentoring to the Site Health and Safety Manager, ensuring that all employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize internal and external resources to execute the ANZ safety strategy, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage Worker's Compensation in consultation with external service providers and the ANZ regional team, minimizing downtime and ensuring a smooth return-to-work process for injured employees.
- Plan and budget specific programs and activities to prevent employee injury and illness, and increase employee well-being, aligning with the company's overall safety strategy.
- Serve as Lead Investigator for significant incidents, conducting thorough investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the investigation team to identify trends and areas for improvement, ensuring that all incidents are thoroughly investigated and lessons learned are applied.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Health and Safety Manager, with a minimum of 7 years' total experience as an OHS practitioner. You will also need to be conversant in Lean Manufacturing Principles, with a focus on the Plan-Do-Check-Act process. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in managing a variety of unrelated projects, with a results-oriented approach, logical thinking, and superior problem-solving abilities.
