As an Indigenous Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping our client access his community and achieve his personal goals. Your expertise in First Nations culture and ability to support our client's independence will be invaluable.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • SUPPORTING CLIENTS: Utilize your experience in mental health and disability to provide tailored support to our clients, empowering them to live independently.
  • Achieving Personal Goals: Work closely with our clients to set and achieve their personal objectives, promoting autonomy and self-confidence.
  • Running Activities: Organise and participate in activities that foster independence, socialisation, and overall well-being.
  • Celebrating Successes: Recognise and celebrate the achievements of our clients, reinforcing positive outcomes.
  • Organising Activities: Collaborate with community resources to design and implement activities that cater to our clients' interests.
  • Household Tasks: Assist with daily tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and cooking, ensuring our clients' living spaces remain safe and comfortable.
  • Medical Appointments: Arrange and accompany our clients to medical appointments, providing emotional support and advocating on their behalf.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • EXPERIENCE AS A SUPPORT WORKER: Possess relevant experience working with individuals with mental health and disability needs.
  • OPEN DRIVERS LICENCE: Hold a current open drivers licence, enabling you to transport clients safely.
  • NDIS WORKERS SCREENING CLEARANCE AND BLUE CARD: Maintain up-to-date NDIS workers screening clearance and Blue Card credentials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
