We are seeking an experienced Cultural Safety and Inclusion Specialist to lead our cultural safety initiatives and drive positive outcomes for Indigenous consumers.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. As a Cultural Safety and Inclusion Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance cultural competence within our team, ensuring that our services are responsive to the needs of Indigenous consumers.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Culturally Sensitive Framework Development: Develop and implement a framework that aligns our services with the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, ensuring cultural safety and competency.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor and guide staff to enhance their cultural awareness and competence, fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Culturally Safe Policies: Implement policies that reflect the values and needs of Indigenous communities, ensuring that our services are respectful and responsive.
  • Partnership Building: Build and strengthen partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to improve consumer wellbeing and outcomes.
  • Outcome Improvement: Identify challenges and provide actionable recommendations to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, while collaborating on programs promoting reconciliation and cultural diversity.

About You:

  • You have substantial experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health settings and possess a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, communities, and practices.
  • You possess excellent communication and partnership management skills, with the ability to mentor and coach teams to build cultural competence.
  • Experience with mental health services and community engagement will be highly valued.
  • Ideally, you have qualifications in health or social sciences and relevant registrations or certifications (though not mandatory).

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
