Cyber Security Specialist Job Description

VET ADVISORY GROUP PTY LTD is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain database architecture, data structures, and naming conventions to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Implement and enforce security controls, backup procedures, and recovery measures to safeguard data integrity.
  • Create and update documentation, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Engage with clients across the technical report lifecycle, providing finished intelligence delivery and follow-up review/support aligned with Cyber Security practices.
  • Test systems, including debugging, tracking, reproduction, logging, and resolving all identified problems in Domain Name System (DNS), according to approved quality testing scripts, procedures, and processes.
  • Provide recommendations to clients on security and integrity controls, including strengthening password policies, enabling Multi-factor Authentication, and encouraging clients to utilize other standard cybersecurity measures to build a cyber incident response plan.
  • Develop novel, automated, or simpler processes for regular technical cyber research and analysis for clients on the Recorded Future Platform.
  • Track cyber threat trends across industries and technologies, and generate automated alert queries.
  • Perform technical alert review and triage on-fired alerts for use cases including phishing and credential harvesting sites, fraudulent website detection, code, and data leakage, tracking nation-state and criminal threat actors, social media monitoring, etc.
  • Provide expertise in mitigating security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Create and modify new Technical Standard Operating Procedures and Cybersecurity Policies to assist analysts with repeatable daily work for various clients while maintaining a Service Level Agreement between Recorded Future and the clients.
  • Accept responsibility for the processes, procedures, and cyber operational management associated with clients' cyber threat intelligence systems and planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement security best practices and recommendations.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor or higher level qualifications or equivalent in Information technology / cyber security or other relevant field.
  2. A recent minimum of three years of relevant experience working as an ICT security specialist in the last five years.
  3. A valid driver license with your own reliable vehicle.
  4. Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide leadership to a small team.
  6. Demonstrate problem-solving skills and experience with diagnostics.
  7. Good oral communication skills.
  8. Ability to work with flexible hours including weekends.
