At CareSouth, we're seeking an individual to provide support and care to young people in our residential program.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you'll be responsible for promoting a person-centred approach to direct care, ensuring individual needs are met. This includes providing emotional support and crisis intervention, maintaining a safe and welcoming home environment, and encouraging young people to develop their social and living skills.

  • Building and developing independent living skills
  • Assisting with household duties
  • Encouraging achievement of goals
  • Transporting young people to and from appointments
  • Daily care and support
  • Assisting with engagement in education & extracurricular activities such as sport or art
  • Supporting connection to family & culture
  • Utilising support from internal & external specialist services

A Typical Day

Your day will involve a range of responsibilities including:

  • Building relationships with young people and supporting their development

  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to ongoing care planning
  • Supporting young people to engage in education and activities
