Effective Governance Specialist

Public Sector People is partnering with Tablelands Regional Council to recruit a motivated Legal Advisor. This key opportunity plays a central role in strengthening governance frameworks, providing legal expertise, and supporting strategic priorities.
Main Responsibilities- Strengthening governance framework implementation and improvement.
- Providing in-house legal guidance, coordinating external advice, and ensuring compliance with best practice.
- Caring for lease and land tenure portfolio, drafting, negotiating, and reviewing agreements.
- Advising staff on governance and legal issues, preparing reports, policies, procedures, and briefings.
- Managing complaints and investigations according to Council's Complaints Management Policy.
- Bachelor's degree in Law or relevant discipline.
- Admission as an Australian Lawyer.
- Current practising certificate or eligibility to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial leasing and complaints handling.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
