Senior Project Engagement Advisor

Job Description:

As a Senior Project Engagement Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping strategic communications for infrastructure delivery in the region. Your influence will be felt across North Queensland as you work closely with senior leaders and project teams to provide expert advice on issues management, stakeholder engagement, and risk assessment.

You will be responsible for building strong relationships with ministerial staff, government representatives, community organisations, and key stakeholders. Your communication strategies will be crucial in preparing media releases, newsletters, and speech notes that effectively convey the message of our organisation.

Coordinating community consultations, road openings, media events, and other activities will be an integral part of your role. You will also monitor regional projects to identify emerging trends and communication risks. Your ability to prepare high-quality executive correspondence, reports, and briefing materials while ensuring confidentiality and compliance will be essential.

Leading a collaborative, customer-focused team, mentoring staff, and fostering professional development in communication and stakeholder engagement will be a significant part of your responsibilities. While qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing would be highly desirable.

The preferred candidate will have proven experience in communications, PR, or related fields, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership and team management abilities, and a passion for effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on issues management, stakeholder engagement, and risk assessment to senior leaders and project teams

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing
  • Proven experience in communications, PR, or related fields
