About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist at Healthcarelink Support. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front Desk Operations
    • Open and close the clinic as per established procedures
    • Greet patients and other callers in a professional and courteous manner
    • Make appointments for patients and manage the scheduling process
  • Medical Records Management
    • Ensure medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently
    • Accurately process patient payments via cash, EFTPOS, and direct billing transactions
  • Communication and Customer Service
    • Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals in a courteous and helpful manner
    • Attend to patient enquiries and provide accurate information
  • Administrative Support
    • Check and handle internal emails and correspondence
    • Fill in the roster when staff is away, on holidays, or sick leave
    • Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy, including cleaning up spills as necessary
  • Confidentiality and Security
    • Ensure the accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records, including scanning, faxing, and filing of documents
    • Maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information at all times
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Complete recalls and support the day-to-day operations of the medical centre
    • Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills are essential for this role
    • High level of computer literacy and IT knowledge is required
    Requirements
    • Current Police Check
    • Current Working with Children clearance
    • Current First Aid/CPR certificate
    • Immunisation Record
    • Driving Licence/Photo ID
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and experience with medical software (Best Practice/Medical Director)
