
Government Policy Specialist

As a Government Policy Specialist, you will drive integrated policies that support higher education, research and innovation. You will help identify policy issues, conduct strategic analysis, and contribute to system and data optimisation.
Duties and Responsibilities- Contribute to policy outcomes to drive innovation and deliver government initiatives within the research sector.
- Assist with the evaluation of research commercialisation priorities to support economic growth and innovation.
- Contribute to the strategic management of research infrastructure outcomes.
- Engage in cross-agency collaboration to identify emerging policy issues.
- Enhance research performance through strategic project, program and data management.
- Assist in the management and implementation of large government grants programs such as national collaborative research infrastructure strategy.
- Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of research projects to align with national priorities.
- Support and contribute to the development and optimisation of data systems to improve data collection and processing capabilities.
- Support the management and analysis of higher education data.
- Contribute to the publication of sector-wide demand and assessments in partnership with external stakeholders.
- Facilitate the delivery of verified higher education data sets to underpin commonwealth Higher Education Loan Payments (HELP).
- Aid data system build, optimisation, and/or remediation work.
Eligibility: To be eligible for employment, you must be an Australian citizen or in the process of obtaining it.
