Job Description:

This is a long-term contract opportunity with a high-profile government department. The successful candidate will have experience as an EL 1 Policy or Program Officer and be able to develop policies to support government initiatives.

Duties:

- Develop policies to support government initiatives and research sector outcomes, including driving innovation through start-up programs.

- Commercialise research to drive economic outcomes by managing projects and programs to optimise performance.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Self-motivation, leadership, and maturity as a team leader;
  • Leadership skills to supervise small teams;
  • Critical thinking, analytical, evaluation, and problem-solving skills for complex policy areas;
  • Judgement and program management skills to manage competing priorities and deliver on time under pressure;
  • Excellent communication skills for written products and oral presentations;
  • Negotiation skills to drive forward our agenda while building relationships with stakeholders;
