Avionics Systems Engineer Role

Qantas is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing avionics aspects of our B737/B787 fleets, ensuring the highest level of safety and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize fleet issues, and develop corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in safety, operational performance, and efficiency of aircraft avionic systems and components.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve issues that maximize commercial and operational benefits to the Qantas Group.
  • Develop cost-effective engineering designs and installations that efficiently integrate with the airframe.
  • Evaluate and coordinate airworthiness issues associated with modifications, ensuring compliance with certification and regulatory airworthiness requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering (Avionics, Electrical or related Degree).
  • Familiarity with Civil Aviation and Safety Regulations.
  • Sound organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • A strong work ethic and drive to get the job done.
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within Qantas and outside organizations.
