Avionics Systems Engineer

Qantas is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing avionics aspects of our B737/B787 fleets, ensuring the highest level of safety and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and prioritize fleet issues, and develop corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in safety, operational performance, and efficiency of aircraft avionic systems and components.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve issues that maximize commercial and operational benefits to the Qantas Group.
- Develop cost-effective engineering designs and installations that efficiently integrate with the airframe.
- Evaluate and coordinate airworthiness issues associated with modifications, ensuring compliance with certification and regulatory airworthiness requirements.
Requirements:
- Degree qualifications in Engineering (Avionics, Electrical or related Degree).
- Familiarity with Civil Aviation and Safety Regulations.
- Sound organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines.
- A strong work ethic and drive to get the job done.
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within Qantas and outside organizations.
