About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to join our team as a Defence Evaluation Director in the Directorate of Select Strategic Issues Management. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in identifying, reporting, and troubleshooting problems across various issues affecting the Australian Defence Force and broader Department of Defence.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather information and insights to inform strategic decision-making
  • Conduct analysis and research to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Lead focus groups to gather feedback and input from key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure effective evaluation and assurance activities
  • Support your team to plan and execute effective evaluation and assurance activities

What You'll Need

  • A proven track record in evaluation and assurance, with experience working in a defence or government environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Experience working in a team environment, with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with colleagues
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and priorities

Location

This role is based in Canberra, ACT, and requires on-site access to systems and offices located within the ACT. While flexible work arrangements can be applied to an extent, any successful candidate will be required to reside within the ACT region.
