About the Role

The Defence Governance Director will play a key role in delivering a wide-ranging portfolio in support of the Vice Chief of the Defence Force (VCDF) and VCDF Group. This involves leading a small team in maturing the VCDF Governance System, delivering governance functions, strategic security initiatives; and risk management for the VCDF Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing advice, decision support, and briefing material to senior leadership across VCDF Group, Office of the VCDF, and Defence
  • Liaising with colleagues across Defence to develop input for the Defence Annual Report and Enterprise Performance Reports
  • Leading a small team through change by identifying and delivering against new opportunities in line with strategic need
Requirements
  • Experience with supporting executive decision-making through governance systems, committee engagement, enterprise performance reporting, and robust evidence-based decision-making
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to support engagement with senior leadership and colleagues across the Groups and Services
  • Able to manage a busy workload and prioritise accordingly
Salary and Benefits

$134,567 - $161,521 + up to 15.4% Superannuation per annum

The Directorate of Governance is a small team at the strategic centre of Defence providing corporate governance including performance reporting, security, and risk management support to the VCDF and VCDF Group. The team works closely with senior leadership across Defence to ensure high-quality and timely products are provided to enable effective decision-making.
