The Role

Are you a results-driven professional with exceptional interpersonal skills?

We are seeking a confident and self-motivated leader to join our team at the Department of Defence.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your quantitative analysis skills in a qualitative context, driving evaluation and assurance activities across strategic issues within the Australian Defence Force and broader Defence organisation.

You will liaise with stakeholders, conduct research, lead focus groups, and develop processes to support effective evaluation and planning.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically.

You will be required to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

About Our Team

You will join a high-performing team of implementation, evaluation, and data specialists providing critical support to the Chief of Defence Force.

The team manages strategic issues, assures response, remediation, reputation, and reform, ensuring timely and trusted information for decision-making.

We seek a self-motivated, outcomes-focused leader who can use data to drive improvement and shape processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with stakeholders to gather information and provide updates
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform evaluation and planning
  • Leading focus groups and developing briefings for senior leadership
  • Developing and maintaining processes to support effective evaluation and planning

This role requires on-site access to systems and offices located within the ACT. Flexible work arrangements will be considered for suitable candidates.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
