Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced vehicle maintenance technician to join our team at Melbourne Airport. As a key member of our new Vehicle & Plant Team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the diverse vehicle and equipment fleet that keeps one of Australia's busiest airports running smoothly.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to showcase your mechanical skills and contribute to the success of our airport operations. You will be responsible for carrying out hands-on mechanical maintenance across a diverse fleet, supporting asset lifecycle management and preventative maintenance improvements, managing data and work orders in Maximo/EAM, supporting procurement activities, and contributing to capital works projects as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out routine mechanical maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • Supporting the implementation of preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
  • Managing data and work orders in Maximo/EAM to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Supporting procurement activities, including raising purchase orders and invoice receipting
  • Contributing to capital works projects as required
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner
Requirements:
  • Experience or training as a vehicle mechanic, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Exposure to heavy vehicles and equipment is an advantage
  • A safety-first mindset and strong commitment to compliance and operational efficiency
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office tools, with experience in Maximo/EAM preferred
  • Team player with initiative and a focus on great service delivery
