Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Philanthropy Development Specialist to lead and manage our national community fundraising portfolio. This role will involve creating strategic frameworks with the Head of Fundraising, driving new fundraising initiatives, and leading community fundraisers.
About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for designing journeys that support members of the public who are fundraising through our campaigns and events. You will drive the success of signature peer-to-peer campaigns and work closely with the fundraising team to identify and support initiatives leading to increases in donations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and grow existing partnerships and community fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the fundraising, marketing, and operations teams.
- Accountability in delivering fundraising targets, quarterly and annually driven by campaigns or other fundraising initiatives.
- Manage and grow the community fundraising pipeline, ensuring best practice donor care strategies implemented across each community fundraising offering.
- Work with the fundraising team to help identify and support initiatives leading to increases in donations from third-party and participation-based activities.
- Evaluate the income and expenditure budgets and ensure alignment with forecasts across all campaigns and community fundraising initiatives, delivering appropriate reporting with focus on return on investment per revenue stream.
- Ensure all community fundraising activities are implemented and managed within legislation compliance, internal procedures, and policies, and due diligence processes are followed.
- Bulk strong relationships with key supporters to maximise fundraising results and ensure expectations are met and objectives are aligned with the organisation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and skills in relationship building with various stakeholders, customers, team members, fundraisers, and third-party suppliers.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, be persuasive, develop trust, and maintain effective working relationships.
- Exceptional written skills and the ability to engage supporters, donors, and community fundraisers.
- Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and budget requirements; and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a proven eye for detail.
- Capacity for creative, innovative, and dynamic thinking.
- Capacity to work under pressure and to tight timelines and with adaptability when required to achieve the optimum business outcome.
