Family Services Coordinator

This role requires a dedicated and experienced Practitioner to assist in the provision of high quality intake (including crisis intake), screening and referral services within the counselling framework.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to support and work with diverse families with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Managing incoming client referrals - including referrals from partners and stakeholders - assessing eligibility and suitability.
- Completion of client intake, initial needs assessment as well as risk assessment/s and safety planning where required.
- Providing information and referring to programs including counselling for individuals, couples, children and families, group education and parenting programs, domestic and family violence counselling and family law / family dispute resolution services.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution (including membership eligibility for APS, AASW, PACFA or ACA).
- A well-developed understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and Family Law Act, as well as the issues and impacts on families engaged in these systems.
- Demonstrated articulation of a well-developed practice framework for domestic and family violence and its nexus with child safety, family law, mental health.
- Experience in intake, risk assessment, case management and referral pathways crisis intervention, DVO assistance and safety planning.
- Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.
- Highly effective communication with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to advocate for clients' needs with other organisations/ departments.
- Professionalism and integrity in working with clients, colleagues and community stakeholders.
- Support and collaboration with diverse families with complex needs.
