Opportunity exists for Clinical Coding Auditor to support Health Information Services team at private hospital in Northern Beaches. Key role supports clinical coding team within quality and revenue assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to Clinical Coders on Australian Clinical Coding Standards and National/state coding advice.
  • Review coded episodes prior to invoicing to minimise inaccuracies.
  • Resolve ambiguities in coding and documentation by seeking clarification from relevant committees and clinicians.
  • Contribute to analysis of revenue recovery, including identification and analysis of coding deficiencies.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required, following up on recommendations and reports.
  • Perform data and revenue quality functions as required.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding coding issues.
  • Hold Intermediate/Advanced Clinical Coding or auditing certification.
  • Have strong background in clinical coding with 5+ years recent experience in a medium to large acute hospital.
  • Understand commercial implications of coded data.
  • Be proficient in MS Excel.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and time manage.
  • Hold Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Information Management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of webPAS patient administration system.
