An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled clinical coder to provide expertise in coding standards and revenue recovery.
Northern Beaches Hospital provides care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a range of quality services provided by exceptional healthcare professionals.
- Provide guidance on Australian Clinical Coding Standards and resolve coding ambiguities
- Review coded episodes prior to invoicing to ensure accuracy
- Contribute to revenue analysis and identify documentation deficiencies
- Liaise with stakeholders regarding coding and documentation issues
- HIMAA Intermediate/Advanced Clinical Coding or auditing course
- Strong background in clinical coding with at least 5 years of experience at a medium to large acute hospital
- Keen interest in commercial implications of coded data
- Competency in MS Excel
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Information Management (or equivalent)
