Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanctions Risk Specialist to join our team at Westpac Group. As a key member of our Sanctions Operations team, you will be responsible for conducting due diligence on escalated transactions to eliminate any sanctions concerns on behalf of the Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and review escalated Sanctions alerts in real-time, ensuring timely and accurate decision-making.
  • Respond to complex enquiries from Business Units and stakeholders, providing clear and concise information to support informed decision-making.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including Business Units, Relationship Managers, and Customers, to obtain information required to complete the due diligence assessment.
  • Review and acknowledge compliance with all policy and procedures, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • The ability to work autonomously, making decisions and taking ownership of tasks.
  • Understanding and application of the principles of Risk Management, with a focus on sanctions compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks within agreed timeframes.
